1928

The Bacharach Giants finished atop the ECL, during the abbreviated season. Disagreements between owners caused the league to stop in mid-season and cease to exist. George Carr, Dick Lundy, Fats Jenkins, Chaney White and Clint Thomas all hit well above .300 during the brief season.
Luther Farrell and Rats Henderson won 9 and 8 games each. Newcomer Jimmy Shields posted the best ERA in the ECL with a 1.51 mark. Ping Gardner topped the league in saves with two.
1929

The remaining solvent Eastern Colored League teams banded together to create the American Negro League in 1929. The Baltimore Black Sox were crowned champions after winning both halves of the split season. After trading Dick Lundy and Oliver Marcell to the Baltimore Black Sox, the Bacharach Giants fell to the bottom of the league in ’29. Chaney White (.346) and Clint Thomas (.302) were the only bright spots offensively.
Rats Henderson had over a third of the Giants victories with eight but also lead the league in losses with 11. Closer, Bob McClure, also had 11 losses to pair with 3 wins. The Atlantic City Bacharach Giants would dissolve after the 1929 season.
