1884

The 1884 Milwaukee Brewers (also known as the Cream Citys and Grays) replaced the Philadelphia Keystones in the Union Association at the end of the season and played only twelve games, finishing 8-4. When the Union Association folded after one year, the Brewers moved to the Western League for 1885.
Henry Porter (3/3.00/71), Ed Cushman (4/1.00/47) and Lady Baldwin (1/2.65/21) were the three pitchers utilized by the Brewers in their abbreviated season. In their second game at Wright Street Grounds, Ed Cushman twirled a no-hitter against the Washington Nationals in a 5-0 Brewers win.

Second baseman Al Myers (.326/0/0) led the team in batting average at .326, hits (15) and doubles (6). Outfielder Cal Broughton (.308/0/0) had 12 hits including five doubles in 39 plate appearances. Shortstop Tom Sexton (.294/0/0) collected aa hits and scored 9 runs in 47 at-bats. Not a single Brewer recorded a triple or home run in their 12-game season.
